Buffalo Blitz 2 Slot
The Buffalo Blitz series from Playtech continues to grow with the launch of Buffalo Blitz II. This sequel takes you back to The Great Plains where the buffalo is king. The big question for fans of the original Blitz slot is what does this sequel offer. After all both are on the surface 6x4 reel slots with 4096 paylines. The big difference lies in the Ways Boost engine that gives II up to 14,400 ways to win.
At first glance Buffalo Blitz II looks pretty much the same as it's predecessor. However the graphics look more refined and the background of the American plains much more stylish. Blitz II also boasts a diamond at the top of the slots. This wild symbol functions the same as in the original by randomly multiplying wins by x2, 3, x5 during the base and free games. However in Blitz II it's been given a bigger stage.
How To Play Buffalo Blitz II
Buffalo Blitz 2 slot delivers the same theme that was very much welcomed by slots aficionados of both low stakes and high roller bankrolls, only this time, there is potential to benefit from way more ways to win than the original slot title. On first impressions, the sequel is identical in every way to that of the 2016 release, only it’s not! Buffalo Blitz Slot Details. Wild animals involved in a stampede of wins. Often generous slot machine which can be fairly punishing at the same time. However, it is definitely worth a few quids to spin. The slot is a 4096 winning ways type and features a 5×4 grid.
Wagering on Buffalo Blitz II starts at 20p but this can be increased up to £100. Auto Play features are available as is a Turbo Mode. Whether these features will be permitted within online slots in the future remains to be seen. As far as we can see there aren't any limiters on the Autoplay feature. You can only decide whether to play 5 to 100 spins whilst sitting back and watching the action take place.
On the reels are the usual prairie critters. These include bears, racoons, elk, bobcats and buffalo. The buffalo remains the top paying symbol with x300 for six of a kind. Buffalos are also stacked on all reels which can help generate bigger wins. Note that two buffalo on a winning reel gives a x50 win on II versus x40 on the original. However the other symbols all pay a little bit less on the new version of the slot. For example 6 aces on a win line gets you x120 instead of x150.
Ways Boost Engine
Cash Blitz Free Slots
The biggest difference between Buffalo Blitz I and II is the Ways Boost Engine. This is kind of like a Megaways engine that boosts the number of paylines. This is implemented during the free game round only. Free Games are triggered when three or more free game symbols appear on the reels. You can win between 8 and 100 free spins when the bonus round is activated. In this round the 4x6 reel is expanded to include an extra row on reels 2 and 5 plus two extra rows on reels 3 and 4.
These additional rows give you a massive 14,400 paylines. Furthermore AllWays pay! This means that any combination of symbols on adjacent reels (left to right) will pay regardless of their position on the reel. This is the same for both versions of the game. Of course the key to enjoying these particular features is activating that bonus round - and that's not that easy.
Our Verdict
Buffalo News Blitz
If you've enjoyed playing Buffalo Blitz or Buffalo Blitz Live then this is another option for you to consider. We took the game for a spin and found that wins were very sporadic. The majority of wins were small but we did also get six of a kind with the stacked buffalos and that generated a decent win (x144 win). Unfortunately despite quite a number of plays we didn't get a sniff of the free game round and therefore the Ways Boost Engine.
The latter does seem to be Playtech's answer to Megaways and offering slot players more and more paylines is a real trend. Expect to see Ways Boost added to many more slots designed and developed by Playtech in the future. How you feel about these kind of additions will determine whether you want to stick with the original Buffalo Blitz game or if you think II is the better option.
